Watermelon

I think Andy thought I was kidding when I told him I was going to eat the rest of the watermelon...

I wasn't.

Dallas - Dal-man - Doodle

Dallas, the youngest in our family, graduated from Capistrano Valley today. Dallas is I think the favorite sibling in the Bruce household. He is so much fun to be around, kind, and make anyone laugh. I can't believe our little doodle is old enough to graduate and in just a year he will be leaving for his mission. Here are some fun pictures from the afternoon!

My mom made dallas the coolest dollar bill lei, it was a big hit!

We love you Dallas, congratulations!!

Not much new around here...

Sorry for the lack of posts! Our computer was having some issues and after a trip to the Genius Bar she is feeling much better. I am so grateful for the Genius Bar, they really are genius' and taught us a few things to help let our computer run better.

Here are some random thoughts for the day:

- Did anyone see the hilarious Zack Morris interview on Jimmy Kimmell? It was classic!!
- By the end of this week I will have hit my second trimester. If everyone could please cross your fingers and your toes that I have my full appetite and desire to cook again that would be great
- I am watching Bachelorette and am loving it. So You Think You Can Dance has started again, hip hip hooray!
- We got called as Nursery Leaders in our ward. Yesterday was our first day and Andy and I were laughing so hard at some of the one-liners. My personal favorite: Teacher: "Who is this kneeling in the grove?" Doloris "Well, that's Joey Smith"... Forget the Joseph, it's now Joey.
- My new craving is sweet-tarts (seriously can't get enough), popsicles, and Finding Nemo fruit snacks

Baby is growing... I would post a baby bump picture, but I think I am the only one who can see it. Maybe next month.

We are going to CA this weekend for Dallas' graduation, I will have pictures I promise!

I found this the other day while looking at one of my favorite Twilight blogs (laurensbite.blogspot.com)... It is a picture slideshow of my favorite part of New Moon, warning it is a bit risque... Enjoy!!

The Hill-Do

While in Utah for the wedding, I told Ashley that I wish I had an up-do appointment for the reception since our dresses were so formal. Ashley came to the rescue, she looked up hair salons in the Salt Lake Area and found someone who was available on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00.

She then informed me that the stylist's name was Hilda and the salon name was Hair Jazz. We were all a little skeptical, but thought, how bad could it really be?

1:00 rolled around, and we pulled up to the address to find Hair Jazz. I was always taught never to judge a book by it's cover, so although it looked a little sketchy on the outside, my mom and I decided to go in and see what it had to offer.

We met Hilda, a nice 40+ woman who matches the exact description of a woman who would be named Hilda.

As I sat down to get my hair done, she mentioned she had no bobby pins. How is one supposed to do an up-do without bobby pins? Luckily her salon buddy had some extra laying around. Who knows where they came from. So I described to Hilda what I wanted, just a low pony tail, with my bangs pulled back and some curls pinned up. (I demonstrated almost exactly how to do it). Hilda began and as she started I realized, things were going downhill. I began showing her what to do, but she was NOT having it. So instead she turned me around, with my back to the mirror so I couldn't see what she was doing.

30 minutes went by, Hilda finished, and when she whirled me around I saw her finished creation, what we now refer to as, " The Hill-Do"

In all seriousness the pictures do not do this beauty justice. We decided that it was a mix between a polygamist and a Jewish Wig. The front of my hair was honestly an inch off my scalp, and there was so much hair spray my hair was white. I like how Hilda left some of the pony tail out, it gives it a nice touch, don't you think? I took this one with my phone, so I have 3 chins, but it gives a better picture of the front bangs.

Luckily, my mom was to the rescue. We went to my cousin's house, she brushed out the hair spray, curled my hair, and went to Nordstrom to buy a headband. What would we do without mom's? Or sisters who book us appointments with Hilda!

Thanks Ash!!! :-)

Wedding Weekend!

We had the best time in Utah this last weekend. We arrived in Provo on Saturday morning and hit all our favorite stops!

This was the apartment complex Andy and I met at...good ole' Spyglas Court. The funny thing is, the girls apartments are on the right and the boys are on the left. I was on the second floor and Andy was on the third. But the two sides had concrete walls in between them, so in order to get to one another's apartment we had to go all the way the bottom, cross to the other side, and go all the way up. No wonder we were so skinny when we dated!!
Can't go to Provo without some BYU chocolate milk!! SO yummy! I also love BYU campus, I appreciate it so much more now that I have graduated and visited other college campuses.
We then went to Check City to see all of Andy's old co-workers, University Mall where we saw some good friends, and ended up at my favorite, Pizza Factory. I could eat their Bowtie Chicken Caesar Salad with a cinnamon breadstick ANYDAY!

On Sunday we had the opportunity to go to church at the Joseph Smith Building on Temple Square. It is such a pretty building and going to church on Temple Square is always a nice experience.

On Monday my family arrived and we started it off right at Hires Big H. We didn't take any pictures, but the Cheese Fries with Fry Sauce, Hamburgers, and Diet Coke with shaved ice can't be beat! We ended the night right with Nielsons Frozen Custard.

Tuesday was the big Wedding Day. Whitney and TJ were such a cute couple, and it is always fun to reminisce about your own wedding day. It seems like just yesterday we were married, and now we have a baby on the way. Time sure does go by fast!
