Provo Night

Tonight we did the typical "Provo" activities...

We had Pizza Factory for dinner... can't beat the cinnamon breadsticks! Cute Auntie Fern and Jane
Lucas loving his mac n cheese. First time he has eaten dinner in about 2 weeks.
Lucas take a picture with mom... or not.
Then we headed to Trafalga to use our "pass of all passes" and go mini golfing. Fern and Trevor are too nice to say, "Jillian, it is WAY too hot to go golfing outside"... so instead we all almost died of heat stroke. But it was still fun.

Lucas played the first hole correctly... all the rest of them when something like this:

And did I mention Lucas threw his ball in the fountain? He thought it was hilarious.
After Fern beat us all... we went  inside to cool off where this little one woke up :)

To finish off the night we had shaved ice :) We wanted a ripples diet coke, but they were closed.

The Love birds... we love them!
Apparently I was the only one who looked at the camera.

When we said bye Lucas started crying in the car "Oh no! I go play golf with Fern" It was the cutest thing. My kids LOVE Aunt Elissa!

3 Months!

I cannot believe it has been a month! Where did June go?? With each passing day Jane gets more and more fun. She is such a sweetheart and we can't imagine life without her! I look back at pictures from Christmas and it is so weird to see a family picture and have her not be in it because it feels like she has been in our family forever!

At 3 months this little munchkin loves to eat. She gets so excited every time. In this first picture it was time to eat, but I thought I could snap a few pictures beforehand. Nope! As soon as I put her down she started wailing.

So we ate and she was my happy girl!

Watching tour de france with daddy.

At 3 months Jane:
- Loves her playmat, especially the mirror.
- Still loves her swing
- Is sleeping 12 hours at night, takes an hour nap in the morning, a 4-5 hour nap in the afternoon and a 45 minute power nap in the evening. That last nap is going to stop soon, but she just can't quite make it to bedtime from her afternoon nap.
- Doesn't love her carseat. If she is the slightest bit tired, she screams. So we run errands right after a feeding and she is good to go!
- Loves Lucas. He can always get the best smiles.
- Spit up queen! It does not matter how many burps I get out of her, she will almost always spit up. We have gotten great use out of our burp clothes!
- Nicknames are still Janie girl, Little, and Little Little Pumpkin Riddle (Note to Auntie Ashy- This has a song to it... I'm sure you can't wait to hear it!) :)

My Sonic Monster

It is no secret that I love a Sonic Diet Coke. There is something about the styrofoam cup, crunchy ice, and diet coke that makes it in my opinion the best diet coke. I go there often, especially with happy hour. I made the mistake a few weeks ago of getting one for Lucas. He had been exceptionally good that day... Well now he wants one every time we go. Even when we are not at the usual one we go to, he knows we are at Sonic. He knows to ask for a "Thomas Juice" and he is so cute when he asks that I can't say no...

Enjoying his juice with a little reading
The other night I sat him down at the table to drink his juice and eat dinner when apparently he couldn't move his straw to get the last bit of juice. I walk by and see that he had used his finger to poke a hole in the cup, cut in half (with his hand) and then proceeded to drink the rest. Yes, he takes his Sonic drinking very seriously. No wasting over here.

What a smart cookie!

Cousins Pool Day!

My Aunt has the BEST house and the BEST pool! We are so lucky that she invites over to have a cousins swim day. Lucas absolutely loves it! He loves it so much that I can't tell him we are going until we are in the car, otherwise he asks me a million times when we are going to see the guys and go in the pool. Today we were lucky enough to have Andy come with us for our Pool Day.

Lucas getting ready for the pool.

We decided it was time to take Jane swimming for the first time. She looked so cute in her suit.
These are Lucas best friends. They are my cousin Brandi's oldest kids, Lexi and Hunter. Lucas gets so excited to see them, I call them the three musketeers.
Jane wasn't quite sure how she felt about the pool. I think she would have liked it better without the hat, but I was too nervous of her getting sunburned. Sorry Janie girl :)

Daddy had a little better luck... but still no smiles.
My Aunt has every toy and flotation device under the sun. This yellow tubie is a Bruce family staple. I remember my brothers wearing them when we were younger, and now Lucas does. They are the best for swimming! He can go in the entire pool without help from mom.

Brandi used to teach swim lessons and is awesome with all kids, but Lucas especially likes her.

Cute Lexi!

After Jane got out of the pool it was time for her afternoon nap. When I put her down I looked around and all the babies were sleeping. It was so cute! I had to snap a picture of the sleeping babes. Jane, Tate and Kaden!

My Aunt totally spoils us. Everytime we go swimming she gets pizza for lunch. Lucas now even asks for it. Here are the kiddies enjoying Pizza!

Then it was back in the pool!

Afterwards Lucas wanted to wear Daddy's hat. He has a mouth full of M&M's. (Aunt Traci always has candy) Can you tell we love our Aunt Traci?
We came home for naps... afterwards both kids watched Baby Einstein. We had tacos for dinner... and went back to bed!

Just for record sake: Sleep Training update- Jane slept from 8-11. I fed her and she cried for 1 1/2 hours. Then she slept until 7, ate, and slept till 9. I would call that a success! Tonight she only cried for 5 minutes. I think we are on our way to a sleeping through the night baby!

Bath time!

Janie girl love love loves the bath! Usually she takes a bath with Lucas and she loves it even more. Lucas loves to "wash" the baby and he rinses. At first he would dump an entire cup on her, but he now knows to do a little at a time. Tonight Jane took her own bath because we are starting sleep training and Lucas didn't nap until 5:00 (another story, another day) so she flew solo. I brought my camera out so I could capture how silly she is in the bath.

 Love this chubby baby!

Just so I can remember this with next baby... Tonight we started sleep training. Jane is a few days shy of 3 months and I decided it was time. For the past week she has started getting out of her swaddle in the middle of the night and it has been waking her up. She also has become a little too dependent on her swing to fall asleep and she likes to suck her thumb. Plus she scoots and moves and I think she hits the slats and it is getting uncomfortable in the mini crib. With all that said... I thought it was time to move her into her crib. I left her arms out of her swaddle and let her "cry it out". She really only cried for about 5 minutes, and it was more of a whimper. Tomorrow night when she realizes what is about to happen she probably will cry longer.

So... it's my little experiment. We will she how it goes! It will either be the greatest thing ever with her sleeping through the night or maybe waking up once. Or she will scream all night and I will revert to our old ways for another month :) But I am hoping it goes well because I would really like her to be sleep trained before our big California trip and have the kids used to sleeping in the same room, since they will be in CA!

She looks so sweet in her crib. She crinkled her forehead when the flash went off... love those kissable cheeks!
