Squash & ABC's

Today we started on solids. I LOVE our new pediatrician. At our last appointment he said I could start on whatever solids I wanted- whereas my LV pediatrician yelled at me for starting Lucas on sweet potatoes and not rice cereal. Anyway... we started on Squash.

Before:

 First Bite:
And she wasn't the biggest fan... BUT she does look exactly like Lucas here

She was so funny because she wanted the spoon so badly... but as soon as she would put it in her mouth she made the funniest faces. I think it will take a few tries before we get the hang of it :)

And this sweet boy LOVES to sing. Whenever Jane is crying he says, "It's OK baby Jane, I sing you church song" And then proceeds to sing Jesus wants me for a sumbeam or his other favorite, ABC's.

Today I finally caught him singing his ABC's. My favorites are Q, V, and most of all W! (or dobblevue)

5 Years

On Friday we will be celebrating our 5th Wedding Anniversary. Since we knew Andy would be sick since today he had Chemo treatments, we decided to go out last night. Andy told me to be ready at 4:30. He got home from work and we dropped the kids off with his parents. We drove to dinner where Andy had made reservations to Cucina Toscana. I had never heard of it, but it has amazing reviews online and his good friend Joe said it is a must. And it did not disappoint! It was traditional Italian food and all the pasta was handmade. We ordered enough food for 6 because we wanted to try everything from the bruschetta to the prepared at your table caesar salad, to the sampler of pastas, to the salmon. YUM!

At the end of the meal they give you hot chocolate and a lemon chocolate chip biscotti. It was the perfect ending.

We went back to the condo I fed Jane and we put the kids to bed and then headed off to the movies. We saw Batman and it was so fun to go to a movie!

It was a tender mercy how well Andy was feeling last night- the best he has felt in months! He also tasted all the food when normally he has a metallic taste at all times from the chemo. We had such a fun evening and are so grateful for the fun memories!

An average day..

Not much happening around here lately...

Lucas is back on the train bandwagon. Here they are joining us for lunch
Discovered heaven on earth... layer of brownie, layer of oreo, layer of chocolate chip cookie. Darn you kneaders! They even have a drive through so I may or may not go everyday.
$2 buck Tuesday at Thanksgiving point! It was crazy... but surprisingly not too bad once we got inside.
And it was totally worth it because Lucas LOVED it.

 This shark was his favorite
He loved it SO much that this is what happened when we got in the car
And 20 minutes later... it was still going on. He kept screaming "NO PICTURE" while I snapped away... which only made me laugh harder.
I made a lego table because it is the new toy of choice around these parts.

And Andy ended up in the hospital last week. His small intestine started bleeding which is not good. After 3 days in the hospital and a blood transfusion he was on the mend. Here is my lunch one day...
And dessert one night... they have awesome diet coke.
My super woman sister in law got in the car and drove to Provo when she heard of Andy. Lucas was SO excited to see "The Boys". Immediately they started a light sabor fight.
We took them to the BYU Dinosaur museum and they all loved it,

Of course Lucas loved his map

 Jane fell asleep with daddy
 Wrestling with daddy
I feel like I am playing mancala everytime I fill the pill box with Andy's weekly meds. This is only half... I haven't picked up the rest.

So Thursday starts Cycle 2 of Chemo. Wish us luck!

4 Months!

It's true... Janie girl is 4 months!! I just want her to stop growing. The next few months are my favorite and I am trying to savor them as much as possible!

Some things I want to remember about 4 months!
- Jane has the best belly laugh
- She laughs the hardest when you kiss her cheeks (and oh are they kissable!)
- She rolls from her back to her belly and then proceeds to scream until someone rolls her back over
- Still hates her carseat
- I now double swaddle her so she will sleep at night and she still manages to get one little hand out
- Loves her paci
- Her favorite toys are Sophie and her blue rattle ball
- In 3-6 months clothes... but is approaching the 6-12 months.
- Nicknames: Janie Girl, Little, The Riddler, Pip Squeak

No stats because I haven't had her 4 month check up yet

Typical Saturday

Yesterday felt like a typical Saturday. Andy had a good day, which we now don't take for granted. We soak up all the time we can. The morning started off to a great start with a girls day. My mom treated the girls to a pedicure and lunch. Yum! It was Jane's first "pedicure" and I think she liked it :)

While the girls were gone the boys played at home. After naps we headed to the park. Lucas was in heaven playing "Skee-ball" (Baseball) with daddy and grandma!
Grandma showing us how it is done :)

Baby Jane chillin on the grass... practicing her rolling skills.

We also played a little Salt n Pepper. And yes, I am sore today from it.

My mom bought Jane this rattle ball... she loves it!

Lucas wanted to play "Get you" with my mom. Which means you chase him and say "get you"... he loved it.

My mom would tackle him and he would say look up and when you looked up he would start running. Too smart this one!

We ended the night with some Costa Vida- my favorite... we are adjusting to our new normal, but slowly things are getting back to where we can just hang out together. Andy was super tired today, I think we wore him out. But it was worth it just to be outside as a family.
