Busy, Busy day!
Today was the first real Saturday we have had in a long time to go and run errands for all the little things we need for the house. First on the list was getting our new couch!!! It is SO cute and fits perfect in our little family room. I have been searching endlessly for pillows for it, and could not find any thing with red in it to match the kitchen. So, I resorted to just finding pillows I liked and "Making it work" -Tim Gunn. I think when the wall decorations are finished, it will definitely work. (You will just have to wait and see once those pictures are posted:-)) Thanks to the very kind Easter Bunny this year we found pillows and all the nic-naks we have been looking for at Target. 4 pillows for $25, not bad! Not to mention today in Las Vegas was FREE GOLDEN SPOON DAY!! And it wasn't a mini, it was a small! Don't worry, we went for both lunch and dinner. We took our nephews Mitchell (the birthday boy) and Owen to Golden Spoon for their first experiences. I think all in all they enjoyed it!
As our rooms get put together I will post more pictures. For now I have our family room couch and our guest room! (By the way, the pictures do not do the guest room justice...) I hope everyone had a good Saturday today too!

The Awkward "In Between Stage"
I love my short hair, I really do. But I HATE that I cannot do it curly, like I can when it is long. Which stinks because it totally dries out my hair blow drying it every day, and I like it curly. I have tried many a times to make is curly, and it looks like a big ole' furry fro on top of my head. So, the conclusion? It is time to grow out my hair.... Not TOO Long, but long enough to do it curly. And where does that leave me? In the awkward in between stage of not short, not long just in between where I want it to be... and every morning I feel like this....

Anyone else feel like this?? Hopefully, in a few months my hair will look like this:

(Side note... look how cute Ava was when she was 6 months old!!)

Flip that dresser...
So I totally forgot to take a before picture... But my mom had an old dresser that was her dad's and was green, then yellow, then they painted it white and gave it to my mom to use in high school. It has been sitting in her office and I asked if I could have it. And sanded it down to its original wood, then painted it white. We bought some new hardware for it, and decapoged (spelling?) a piece of paper to the top. All in all, it turned out very well!! It looks SO cute next to my red/tan desk (more pictures to come once the office is in a more orderly manner!

Sorry for the delay....
I'm so sorry we haven't posted in a week or so. We just go internet at our new house and we have been moving, painting, and decorating all week. Once it is all in I will post pictures of our new and much improve house!
Happy Easter everyone!!

Bows Part 2
We have a house!!!
After months and months of looking and looking, pre-qualifying and going through the house hunt we decided a place to live. We also decided that since buying a home is a permanent thing... and dental school is not, renting was our best option. We looked at dozens of homes and finally found one that we liked, both agreed upon, and accepted dogs. We met with the owners, signed the papers and got the keys!! We decided to go to California this weekend to pick up some furniture pieces that my parents were giving us. So, here are the before pictures of the house (don't worry, we are painting the family room this week) and fun pictures from our trip to California!

UNLV vs. Westmont College
This past weekend our team had the opportunity to travel to Santa Barbara to play against Westmont College. It was an eye-opening experience, being a rookie and playing against such a veteran team, but I felt comfortable and up to the task. Needless to say, the majority of our team did not feel the same way and it showed on the scoreboard. We kept it close but ended up giving up a careless try in the final minutes and a couple silly penalties that put the game out of reach. I really love playing rugby, I wouldn't say its my calling in life, but for now I really enjoy it. Final score: Westmont 23-UNLV 7.
It was my first time in SB and I thought it was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen(anyone ever seen Oprah's estate in Westmont? yea, its so official.......).I was kinda bummed that Jillian couldn't make it down but it seems like the weekend focused to studying really payed off. Nick (my good friend and teammate) and I were also lucky enough to spend a night in San Juan with my amazing in-laws. I think the world of them.

#1- Baby Owen Brett Anderson arrived!!!! We are so excited for Brett and Jamie and their little boy. He is so adorable, and we can't wait for the coming months to see his little personality. He weighed 8 lbs 4 oz with blonde hair!! I even got to feed him a bottle! Mom and baby are doing great, and are excited to see him again, hopefully soon!

#2- After 7 long weeks of going to class and studying I passed the Nevada Real Estate test!!!! It was very exciting, since I am the most horrible test taker EVER! We went to dinner to celebrate...

Today has been a very big and eventful day!
#3- After having the same hair stylist since I was 14 I finally went to someone new. I decided that I need to make Las Vegas my new home... which includes finding a new hair stylist, the "nails by holly" of Las Vegas, etc... I REALLY like it, and it was less expensive! I would show a picture of my new do but I already uploaded the pictures... so they will have to wait!

Shop til you drop!
Today I had to find a suit or jacket that matched a pair of pants I already own for work next week. So, this morning I headed out to Fashion Show Mall and went to work. I had mapped out all the stores I would try because I was determined to find something for under $70. For Las Vegas locals it is probably easy to find your way around Fashion Show. However, being a first timer it was MORE than difficult. It has 4 different split levels and I was so turned around.
First stop: Macy's. I found NOTHING... I looked in every department, I even went to juniors.
Second stop: Ann Taylor Loft. I knew I would find something here because I love everything they have and it is reasonably priced. They had NOTHING
Third, fourth, fifth, sixth seventh stop: Ann Taylor, Express, Limited, Dillards, Nordstrom. (By the way, all those stores are not close to one another). NOTHING.... nothing even close. Express and Limited had jackets and pants, but way too expensive for one jacket.
After 2 long hours of roaming, searching, and endless frustration, I decided to call it quits. I had to walk back through Macy's to get to my car. As I am walking I see on this far FAR wall "Suits"... hmmm, I hadn't seen this before. It is tucked away behind dresses. I go to the sale rack to my size, and of course their is only one left. I wasn't even going to look, but decided what the heck, why not. I tired it on, and it was ADORABLE! Not only was it a suit jacket, but pants to match! It had darling lining, and pleats in the back. I was still a little skeptical because I didn't have my mom's approval. She is my #1 shopping buddy, and I need her approval for most things. I asked a few ladies who were walking into the dressing room and I got great reviews so I thought, ok it is a keeper. At this point I still hadn't looked at the price tag, so I looked down and the results were....
Originally: $240.00
On sale: $159.00
On sale again: $99.00
$99.00 was more than $70, but I couldn't pass up this beauty, I took it to the register, and Macy's was having a 20% off sale for the weekend, which brought the total to $80. As she was ringing it up I noticed a little bump in the jacket where the hanger had been poking it. I pointed it out to the salesperson, and she gave me an extra 10% off, bringing my subtotal to $70!!!! Talk about Shop til you drop! One long day of shopping, but definitely paid off in the end!
I took a picture in my new find just to show it off, and get the approval from my mom!!
(Disclosure--not the best picture because a. my hair today was an experiment and not the cutest b. im the only one home so I took the picture on photobooth- not the best quality)

Meet Veronica and Robby
Sorry for the delay in posting, life has been CRAZY! I just wanted to show everyone the adorable kids I babysit.. They are SO smart and we have so much fun together. Today we were all superhero animals. I was Wonder Monkey and my superhero power was when someone was chasing me I left banana peels so the person chasing me would slip. And not to worry we even colored bananas and cut them out so I could actually drop them! Robby was a Transabear and Veronica was a Super Puppy!!

That's all for now!
