Santa Claus

Last week we went to The Riverwoods to visit Santa. We waited a few weeks before visiting him because we wanted Lucas to not be scared and sit on his lap. We bundled up and headed over. The best part of the Riverwoods is they don't have a professional photographer... so you can take as many pictures as you want free of charge... my kind of activity!

Jane would not take her eyes off of Santa. He kept talking to her, and I kept trying to get her to smile. But she was so concerned. She never cried, but she was a little nervous.
Lucas didn't look at the camera either... instead he had a lengthly conversation about what he wanted for Christmas. I love this picture because Santa is listening to intently, and Lucas is so serious about what he is saying... even using hand motions! All he wanted for Christmas was a Lego Train set. He told Santa no less than 20 times. Too cute.

We had a great family outing and we love this time of year!

Snow Day!

Since moving to Utah Lucas has been begging to play in the snow. We haven't had proper snow clothes so he hasn't been able to. I finally got gloves, boots, a jacket, and snow pants. So today after lunch we headed outside!

Jane did not like her snow suit, but once she was sitting up she loved it. We are loving the seasons here in Utah!

Solid Food

Jane has not been the greatest eater when it comes to solids. And it so much easier just to nurse. But in the past week it is like it finally clicked and she is starting to love it. Thank goodness.

Temple Square

Last weekend we went to Temple Square to look at the lights. It was super cold out, but we bundled up and had fun. As we were walking back Lucas and Andy got in a snowball fight. Lucas thought it was the funniest thing he had ever done. Now every time we go outside he wants to make a snowball.

8 Months!

8 Months old. 4 months alway from being 1! Yikes! Someone please tell time to stop. We love our Janie Girl. I think every month I say the same thing... she is the sweetest little baby and we all are smitten with her.

Janie is not a great sleeper... but let's be honest, I am comparing her to Lucas whom slept more than he was awake. But to be honest... I kind of like it! I love that every night at 11:00 she wakes up. I feed her and then we rock for as long as we want. Sometimes for an hour or so. She snuggles in to my neck and I kiss her cheeks. During the day she will take 2-3 2 hour naps. But sometimes she only takes 45 minute naps... but I am ok with that because that is more time I have with her.

At 8 months I want to remember:

- When you tell Jane "No" she smiles at you and will grab whatever it is she wants while still looking at you. One time she was going for an ornament and Andy told her "No"... she did it again and he told her "No no Bay Jane" and she looked at me and burst in to tears. It was the sweetest, yet saddest thing.
- Whenever ANYONE talks to her she tilts her head to the side and smiles. It is so cute.
- She only wants mom. If anyone else is holding her and she sees mom she lunges out to get me. I secretly love it. Except when I am trying to get dinner going.
- She is army crawling everywhere and getting into everything. She doesn't like getting on all fours.
- Sitting up like a champ.
- Had to lower her crib because she was pulling herself up and standing.
- Has the tiniest feet. She is still wearing 0-6 months shoes, but is in 12-18 month clothes.

We love you Bay Jane!!

Lucas 3rd Birthday

For Lucas' birthday celebration we kept it low key. We asked Lucas what he wanted to eat for his birthday and he said a really big cake. So we went with the next best thing--french dip sandwiches, french fries, and watermelon. It was yummy. Then we added some Thomas Balloons and called it a day!

John, Jane, (or Bompagrandma), Trevor, Fern (or TrevFern), and Dallas all came over for the festivities  When there are two people, Lucas groups them into one.

I have to say it was the cutest thing... we went to Zurchers, which is the local party store in Provo. I let Lucas pick out anything he wanted. He choose three James Balloons, three Thomas Balloons, and an actual Thomas Balloon. We took them to the counter and then I loaded the kids in the car while they filled them with Helium. I ran in to get the Balloons and when I walked out Lucas exclaims, "Are those balloons for ME?" Whilst patting himself on the chest. It was honestly the sweetest thing. He was so excited to have his very own balloons. When we got home I put both kids to bed and set up for the party and frosted his cake. When he woke up he came out and was so excited to see his cake. His first this was "Mommy... let's open the cake!" It was torture to wait until after dinner.
I through together a birthday banner, with trains of course.
Bompa entertaining Jane while we got dinner ready.
 Opening Presents!
He loved the bucket of dinosaurs!!

And was even more excited for the Fire Station Legos!! (THANK YOU GRANDMA TRACY!)

He went through and found the dinosaurs in the book and matched them with the figurines.
At last it was time for cake!

He was a little bashful when it came time to sing.

When I said ok let's eat, Lucas went and got a knife and took matters into his own hands. Sweet boy :)
He loved the three layer Chocolate Cake!

We had a great night celebrating our 3 year old! Now Stop Growing!!!

3 Years Old!

I cannot believe my little guy is 3 years old! I think this is one of my favorite ages. Lucas can communicate for the most part, but still is innocent. I love the little things he says as we are driving around town and his observations on life. I love that my friend Danielle does an interview with her kids on their birthday so I decided to do it too :)

So there you have it! Lucas at Age 3. Here are some things I want to remember of Lucas at this age:
- His favorite thing to say is, "That is a Great Idea!" after you suggest anything.
- If you ask someone something or are helping someone else he will always ask, "But what's this about me?"
- When you are out of the room and he comes in he will ask you, "What you doing here?" It makes us laugh everytime.
- His favorite foods are still carbs and cheese... grilled cheese, cheese pizza, cheese quesadilla, mac n cheese. He is coming around on meats, but not really.
- Is the sweetest big brother around.

We love you Lucas Henry!
