March California Trip

In March the kids and I went to California for a week! We had lots on our schedule and not a lot of time so we got to work. Lucas was so excited to go on an airplane and we were looking forward to a week in the sun!

Lucas asks to play with Zane EVERYDAY. Imagine his surprise when he got an entire week with his Zaners.
This is not the best pictures.... but Jane loved playing with my mom's dress ups.
 Morning snuggles with Grandma
 Naptime in mommy's bed
We got to be there for St Patricks Day and we all loved matching in green.
Jane was a bit under the weather the first few days.... but she still tried to have fun :)
 Train ride at the Spectrum

My dad would take Jane every morning and watch "What does the Fox say" on youtube... it is still Jane's favorite song.
I have been wanting to go to the Fabric District in LA for EVER. My mom and I decided to brave it with both kids.... which was crazy, but fun. We didn't quite get to all the places we wanted, but we still had fun and got some fun fabric. Taking crazy elevators was a must.

After te fabric district we headed to the Grove in LA. We were all pretty tuckered out, but still had fun.
Of course California is not complete without yummy desserts. Peanut Butter chocolate chip cookies....
 Sprinkles Cupcakes...
My parents surprised us with a day at Disneyland... Lucas was ecstatic, on the tram on the way to the parks. Jane wasn't quite sure what was going on.
Making them stop and pose for a picture before rides... torture!
 Dumbo!

Naps in the stroller.... sometimes I wish I was 2.

So Ashley and I maybe tricked Lucas, Shea and Zane to go on Splash Mountain. But it was so worth it for this picture. Lucas loved every part, but the last "waterfall" however... after he wanted to watch everyone come down, and he always talks about going back. I'd say it was a success:)

We had so much fun in California and can't wait to go back. Yesterday I said I really love Utah (somewhat sarcastically) and Lucas said, NO mom, we love California!! It was hilarious. Thanks mom and dad for a wonderful trip and Andy for letting us go :)

Jane turns TWO!

I can't believe my baby is 2! Time has seriously flown by the last 2 years. Jane is the family favorite.... we all love her, protect her, and smile at all her antics. It is so much fun to see Jane and Lucas play and have fun together. I am so grateful for their little relationship.

For Jane's birthday we had a small family and friends party. It was so fun decorating and seeing Jane's eyes light up with everything that was just for her.

We had yummy fish tacos with beans and rice (and Jane diet staple). Before long it was time for presents. It is so funny how she totally knew what to do. My parents got her a cozy coupe and we knew she would want to play with it immediately so we wrapped the box and had it assembled upstairs.

Here Jane is RUNNING to the stairs as Andy brought it down!
She was so excited and kept moving the steering wheel back and forth and squealing.

I made her a Egg free Milk Free cake and she loved it. It wasn't the prettiest cake... but she didn't care :)
Jane loves my mom... and is always so excited to see her.
Jane also LOVES babies... especially Baby Johnny :)

At 2 years old Jane...
- Will climb on anything. She can get to any height and is seriously a little monkey.
- Says many words... but my favorite is Bird. Pronounced "Boooo-rd"
- Her little good-bye wave is too cute. She squeezes her hand open and shut. It is the highlight of my morning.
- Is obsessed with her Paci. We tried going cold turkey on her one night and she cried for 45 minutes asking "Where did it go?"So we searched the house and found one and gave in. Maybe next year?
- Loves shoes. She picks them out everyday and will only wear the ones she chooses.
- Loves diet coke.... it's in the genes I guess :)

We love our Bay Jane... I think she will always be Bay Jane... but her other nickname that is growing is Squibbs.

Snow Day

My brother and his wife moved back to Utah right after Thanksgiving. Their new place wasn't finished being built, so they have been staying at his in-laws cabin in Sundance. We decided to spend the day up there today while and had so much fun!! When the kids woke up we told them we were going to the cabin and they were running around like crazy kids while we got ready to head out.

The Stapley's cabin is beautiful!!

Fern and Sydney were sweet enough to watch the kids while the four of us went Skiing. I haven't been since before Andy and I were dating... I held my own, but definitely was a little rusty. I am already sore and know tomorrow is going to be brutal!

After skiing and the kids naps we all headed to Dairy Keen in Heber for some hamburgers and shakes. It was fun hanging with my brothers and reminiscing about the old times at Wolf Mountain. If only we had ended the day at Embassy Suites with Happy Hour and Hotel Tag :)

Thanks for a wonderful Snow Day!

Christmas 2013

Christmas this year was magical. It was so much fun being in California with the entire Bruce family. First time in three years we have all been together and all week long we played and laughed and ate and ate.

I bought this little German dress when I was in Study Abroad in Germany before we got married.  I have been patiently waiting for Jane to be old enough to wear it. She finally was tall enough and I knew Christmas Sunday would be the perfect debut :) She looked darling and it made the 7 years worth it.

Christmas Eve... I can't remember why I took this picture... but this is Jane to a tee, so I posting it.
Christmas was so much fun. Both kids were so excited and the best ages.
Santa brought Lucas Star Wars toys and ships. Ever since Christmas morning Lucas still asks every morning if he can play. He loves them!

Jane loved her Tangled castle and played with it all Christmas morning clapping after each time the horsie went down.

I wrapped Lucas skateboard (one of two things he asked for!) in a box. When he opened it, he said I got a Box! And was so sweet and excited about it. Then when he opened it and saw his skateboard he was thrilled!!
Jane being silly with her doggie purse...
And the ninja costume... the other present Lucas asked for. When he opened it he said, "But it's not Halloween" and refused to even look at it. Once he opened all the ninja weapons he decided to put it on. He ran around for hours as a Ninja!
It was such a wonderful Christmas and I am so sad it is over!!
