Jane's 5th Birthday

Janie girl turned 5 this year. 5 is a big deal in our house because it's the first real birthday party you get to plan. Jane was counting down until her birthday and I think it was a success! We started the morning with a donut tower and presents. I think every kids favorite part are the presents.

We then went and got Jane's haircut-which is her favorite thing EVER. She LOVES it.
I was tying to get a picture of her and I with our new haircuts, but she didn't want to smile.
Next on the list was Jane's first time getting her nails done. I wish I had filmed the entire experience. Jane LOVED it. She was giddy with excitement the whole time and couldn't believe she got to put her feet in the spa bath water and got her nails painted. The gal that painted her nails was so sweet with her and even added sparkles just for the birthday girl.

Jane picked Chick Fil A for dinner and was thrilled to get a kids meal and play in the play place.
Then it was home for cake!
A few days later we threw a "Shopkins" themed birthday party! We made a life size "Shopkin-land" game, made bracelets, had face painting, and even ended the whole day with a dance party. Jane was so excited to have all her friends over to celebrate HER.

At one point I caught all the girls doing their makeup in the bathroom. It was so cute I snapped pictures instead of stopping them. They were so excited to have lipstick.

At the end of the party I wanted a picture with Jane and her cousins. She was DONE and did not want to smile. I had to threaten her with her new birthday presents to finally get to smile...
It worked because she smiled like a champ. It really was so funny.

 The take home favors :)

I was EXHAUSTED at the end of the party, but the girls had so much fun and Jane was on cloud 9 all day!

"This"

Mable points and says "THIS" all day long. Today as I was getting ready I finally caught it on film. Love this baby! Even if she wants everything in sight all day :)

Mable Anne Over 12 Months

I posted when Mable was born and here I am one year later posting about her first year of life. Mable has brought a tangible joy into our home. Everyone is excited to see her in the morning and we all wait anxiously for her to wake from her nap. I love her sweet little smile. She is late to walk just barely even taking interest, mainly because everyone moves for her so why should she learn?? Her new thing is to say "This" and point to what she wants. I was carrying in groceries and she saw me holding the gallon of milk and said, "THIS!" and wouldn't stop saying it until I poured her a bottle. Earlier today at the grocery store she was fit to be tied because she wanted a balloon saying over and over "this" (which sounds more like "dis").

Mable also loves to say "Hi" to everyone. She will say "hi" until you acknowledge her and say "hi" back or pick her up. She loves animals! If she see's a bird she will wave to it and want to touch it and is so sad when it flies away.  I love the month-by-month pictures and seeing how much she has grown over the year.

Mable is a little ham and loves to smile and make others laugh. Thanks for joining our family Miss Mable!

2017 First day of School!

This year Lucas and Jane will be attending Doral Academy at Red Rock. We are so excited for this opportunity to attend this amazing campus! The curriculum is based around arts integration and with that the kids will attend art class, theater, violin, music and one other special they get to choose. The best part is they get to wear uniforms! The days leading up to the first day the kids were counting down and I don't think they slept a wink the night before.

They both had a great day and were so excited to tell me about their days. Jane is in Mrs. Mizitrano's Kindergarten class and Lucas is in Mrs. Garza 2nd grade class.

We can't wait for the school year! On the second day of school I couldn't get over how cute they looked in their uniforms so I took more pictures.

We started a new tradition of taking the kids out for a special dessert the night of the first day of school.  We decided on Cheesecake Factory and the kids LOVED it. They were so excited to be out at a fancy restaurant and able to pick out whatever they wanted.

Lucas sneaking a sip of her smoothie
The funniest thing was Jane ordered a smoothie because that was really the only thing she could eat off the menu. She was so excited when it came, but then when she saw everyone else's dessert she was sad that that was all she got. Ironically, hers was everyone's favorite. It was super yummy and the rest of the night everyone kept asking her for a taste of her smoothie and Lucas keeps asking when we get to go back so he can order a smoothie.

We are excited for the school year. Mom is excited to have one on one time with Mable! I can't believe my little Bay Jane is going to kindergarten and it is ALL DAY long.
