SICK!
Lucas has been sick sick sick the past week. I noticed a runny nose, but didn't think much of it. I mean really, don't all kids have runny noses ALL THE TIME. At least Lucas does... it's usually allergies or teething or sometimes both. My theory is, if it is clear, it is nothing to worry about. Last Wednesday he woke up from his nap screaming, with a 101 Fever, and his entire ribcage was moving each time we took a breath. I called the doctor and they told us to come in immediately. We did as we were told and as it turned out he had a bronchial infection. They took his Oxygen levels and they were 90%. If they are under 95% the doctor will hospitalize you, yikes! So the doctor gave Lucas a breathing treatment to see if that would help. We went up to 91%. He insisted that we put Lucas in the hospital... Andy knowing full well our insurance would not cooperate with that insisted that we give him another breathing treatment and see if he improved. He went up to 94%. The doctor gave us our own nebulizer with strict instructions to do treatments every 4 hours, including in the middle of the night.
So yes, I woke up every 4 hours. Then we had to go back into the doctor and get his levels checked... 98%! Ever since we have been doing breathing treatments. We are now down to 1 a day... but man are they rough. Daddy is much better at giving treatments than mommy.
So now that we can leave the house I will hopefully have more exciting blog posts!
