a few NEW things

1. a NEW Office

We re-arranged our office so we had a little more room. I LOVE the arrangement!
Notice the NEW bulletin board. It was our Saturday project... not bad, eh?

And the NEW Sewing Desk. i LOVE it. It reminds me of the desk we had at BYU in sewing lab. It is awesome!

2. a NEW love... the Tobi!!
I HATE Ironing and the Tobi has saved my life. I don't care anymore if I decide to wear something that has wrinkles in it, I almost get excited because then I get to use the Tobi. Notice the darling steaming board Andy made. I LOVE it!

3. a NEW recipe!

On Saturday night Andy and I were both so tired and hungry from our busy days. Neither of us wanted to go get something, but all I had was Chicken breast, frozen french fries, and Hires Big H sauce... so I did a little research and made homemade chicken nuggets! SO Yummy~

Getting ready to try it (and hoping it tastes good because I really didnt want to go get something if it was gross)

And...

They were good!! A new favorite in this household!

what NEW things do you like getting?

Can you tell I am excited?

These are what we London girls call "McVities" and they are the best things EVER!!! While I was in London I seriously SERIOUSLY ate one package everyday. They are what kept me alive because the food wasn't the best. The best part was they were only .89 pence (roughly $2.00). They are $4.50 in the US, but usually they don't have caramels... but tonight Cost Plus came through. Thank you Cost Plus!!! They taste like a graham cracker covered in caramel and chocolate. I know that doesn't sound too appetizing, but they are SO good!

Cake Love

For my birthday my sister-in-law got me the cookbook "Cake Love". Every recipe looked so good, but I wasn't sure if I was talented enough to make anything from it. Today I pushed back my fear and decided to try. Have you ever made cupcakes from scratch?? It really isn't that hard!! And they taste SO much better then the boxed stuff!

Well, I didn't look at the icing recipe until AFTER I had put the cupcakes in the oven. Here are the ingredients:

5 egg whites
1 1/4 c Fine Granulated Sugar
4 Cubes Butter
1/4 Cold Water

When I read it I thought, hmm... Is "Fine Granulated sugar" also known as powdered sugar?? The answer is no! They have you whip the egg whites, and take the water and sugar and melt heat them on the stove. Then, when it has reached 245 degrees F you add it to the egg whites and add in the butter. It is by far the BEST icing I have ever tasted. Who knew that you could use granulated sugar? And in all seriousness, it wasn't that hard!!

Now then, I didn't let the sugar cool down enough before I added the butter so it doesn't have the right consistency that it should (give me a break it was my first try) and so it tastes wonderful, but doesn't look the greatest...

But I challenge anyone who needs a good cupcake recipe to try this ASAP!! I will never make a boxed cupcake again!
