Does Tide make a difference?

I like to think of myself as a bargain shopper. I like sales, I only buy things that are on sale and/or a good price. There are things in life I don't mind "splurging" on, like jeans, cute shoes, fresh produce, etc... One thing I have never ever splurged on is Tide. I always want to because in my head I see Tim Gunn with two purple shirts, one that is still bright purple (because it was washed with Tide) and one that is a gross faded purple (the cheap brand, the brand I buy, wait, that is MY faded purple shirt). And then I get to the dreaded aisle and I put the $15.00 Tide in my cart and keep walking... and then every time the $5.00 Purex wiggles its way out and I always switch! I mean seriously, what is an extra $10.00?

Well, let me tell you..
- 10 diet cokes at sonic
- 2 skirts off the 75% off rack at Target
- In 'N Out instead of cooking one night (totally worth it)
- One month subsciption to netflix

and the list goes on and on...

So I always go with the Purex, until yesterday. Yesterday I decided to fight the urge and I spend a little extra to buy the Tide. I just pulled the first load out of the dryer and in all seriousness this is what I did....

Seriously it smelled SO good... I just wanted to lay in it. So, does Tide make a difference? I don't know yet, I do know it smells better, and we'll see if my clothes continue to fade.

I guess no more netflix for this family... we chose better smelling laundry over it.

The Perfect Valentine

This year we decided to celebrate Valentines on the 17th since the 14th we were busy playing with Baby Avery. We decided to go all out and eat at the Yard House.

It was delicious! I had their macadamia nut salmon and Andy had steak. It was divine!

A few weeks ago Andy asked what I wanted for Valentines Day and I said Chocolate Covered Strawberries and I totally forgot that I had mentioned this. When we got home I sat on the couch to rest because I was so full and Andy told me to close my eyes. When I opened them this was sitting in front of me....

Andy not only remembered, but researched the best way to make Chocolate Covered Strawberries. They were so yummy!

We had a great day of and I have the Perfect Valentine! Thanks babe!

Feeling Grateful

For...

The understanding woman at the grocery store who didn't get mad when I slipped on the concrete in my heels, in the rain, and my shopping cart nicked her side mirror.

My loving parents who always seem to know when to call, offer comforting words, and love unconditionally.

Little babies who bring so much happiness to the world.

My wonderful job amidst this economy.

My sweet husband who is very patient with me and eats everything I cook, even when I know it doesn't taste very good.

Sometimes it just takes a moment to count our blessings to realize that everything is going to be ok!!

My Lucky Day

My favorite store bought cookies are double stuffed Oreo's. I don't ever buy them at the grocery store because a.) I eat all of them and b.) I'm too cheap to buy them at the store. Last week I bought them on a whim because I was starving while grocery shopping (number one no-no). Last night I didn't go grocery shopping until after dinner to keep myself from buying them. And then Smith's had to go and put them on sale for $2.00! Who can't afford $2.00? When I got home from the grocery store Andy HID THE COOKIES so that I wouldn't eat them all. But I found them this morning while making my lunch. You see, I bring lunch to work everyday and after months of turkey sandwhiches, lunches don't really sound good anymore. But when I know I have oreos for dessert it makes eating the sandwhich bearable.

Now to why it is my lucky day... I was so excited about my Oreo's that I ate them as a snack (around 10:30) rather then as a dessert. After I finished my sandwhich I was mad at myself for eating the oreo's earlier. As I reached into my lunchbag to get a napkin I felt something, could it be? Another bag of oreos?? Last Friday I brought a lunch, but didn't end up eating it because I had to leave early... and I had forgotten about the oreo's! So therefore it is My Lucky Day because I got to indulge twice!

Bish is back!!

My dad was called to be the Bishop of the Singles ward this past Sunday. Andy and I wanted to be there when he was called and we are SO glad we decided to go. It was such a great experience being in the room when he was called and to be together as a family.

My dad was Bishop when I was 9 years old so I don't really remember when he was called last time around. The only thing I remember was having all the youth over every Sunday for Mafia, Monopoly (until 2AM) and yummy Chocolate Chip Cookies. And who can forget the yummy pumpkin bread from Tithing Settlement! I am so excited for my parents and a little jealous of all the Young Adults that get to hang out and play with Bish and Sister Bish. They will be such good examples and love each ward member as their own. Guess this means Mafia night at the Bruces is back!

The only pictures I took this weekend were from Skateboarding with Ava. Trevor, Dallas and I would always go to the top of the hill and ride down on our butts. Ashley only let me go to the top of our house, but Ava still had fun. (** Don't mind my shoes, I didn't bring proper "braking" shoes so my dad's nike's did the trick!)

Real Housewives of Orange County

I'll admit that I watch the Real Housewives of Orange County.  For the past 4 seasons Jeana has been my favorite. I always thought she was nice and fun and cute. This season however she is a WITCH! I realize her life is not the best it has ever been, but being plain old mean can't be fun either. Does anyone else feel the same way or am I alone in this? Anyway, I'll still watch, and I am excited to see who her date is with next week! We are going to Calfornia this weekend so hopefully I'll have some pictures when we get back!
