Halloween

This past week I went to a Girls Night Out Halloween party. There were some awesome costumes! My personal favorites were the Octo-moms. It was hilarious!! Camille did such a great job putting together the night filled with Nordstrom cafe Tomato Soup and Cafe Rio Tortilla soup...yummo!

I have had an ice cream craving the past few days... golden spoon has not been cutting it... I want the real deal! The ice cream I have really been craving is Thrifty's Chocolate Malted Crunch, but they don't serve it in Nevada anymore! The only other option is Baskin Robbins. This is great, except I worked at Baskin Robbins both in high school and college...after scooping and decorating so many cakes it usually doesn't sound good. Andy finally said, it can't hurt? We went on Friday night and now I want it every night!! 1 Chocolate chip, 1 Gold Medal Ribbon on a cake cone please!

I meant to take a 33 week picture today after church, but I totally forgot... maybe next week.

Jesus

Jesus is the Property Manager at our office building. We call him when we have a cockroach that needs killing, heavy things in our car that need lifting, and when we lock ourselves out of oursuite. I haven't seen Jesus in a few weeks and today when I got off the elevator and turned the corner we ran into each other. This is what he had to say:

"Wow, you've gotten big!"

Why thank you Jesus for stating the obvious.

The Clumsy Gene

The Bruce women have what is formally known as The Clumsy Gene. Definition: someone who is awkward in movement or without skill or grace. My mom has it, Ashley has it, even little Ava has been diagnosed. Today my Clumsy Gene came out in full force.

I was driving home to make a lunch on my lunch break when I realized we had no bread. I decided to stop by Albertsons to pick some up. While I was there I decided to get some sandwich fixings as well. **Sidenote, I had a basket in one hand, and my purse in the other** I walked around the corner and took it too fast when I lost my balance. My legs literally fell from underneath me. As I started falling I sort of regained my balance and thought, "I got this"... I spoke too soon... I ATE it on the grocery floor. I didn't have my hands because I was carrying my basket and purse so instead my knees took my fall because I was so paranoid of falling on my stomach. My basket went flying and all the contents of my purse went down a few different aisles. I sat on all fours for a few seconds before realizing I had alerted the whole Albertson's staff. I got up, collected my items and purse and reassured everyone I was fine.

I got to the checkout stand and the nice man behind the register and I had the following conversation:

Nice Man: (upon ringing up the Alfalfa sprouts) Um, Ma'm the packaging on these sprouts are a little crunched, let me go get you a new one
Me: (Realizing the sprouts probably broke my fall and wanting to get out of the store ASAP) Oh, that is unnecessary. You see I totally ate it at the back of the store and I think they broke my fall. Those are just fine.
Nice Man: How did they taste?
Me: (after a minute of awkward silence trying to figure out what the crap this man is talking about) How did what taste?
Nice Man: The sprouts...you said you ate them?
Me: Ohhhhh.... no sir, I ate it, as in, I wiped out, fell down, face planted in the back of the store. The sprouts just broke my fall.
Nice Man: ARE YOU OK? I was wondering why you were eating sprouts by themselves.

I then paid for my groceries and raced to my car. I can barely bend my legs, and tomorrow my knees are going to have some big bruises. Other then being completely humiliated, I am doing just fine. The baby is great, moving as usual.

Thank you Clumsy Gene!

A's Burger

Every time we come to California we HAVE to go to A's Burger. A's is this little hole in the wall restaurant that has the best breakfast burrito money can buy. Not to mention, pancakes, burgers, and fried zucchini with ranch dressing!

We went on Friday night for dinner....all we wanted were some cute pictures.... it just took a few "takes".

Take one:

Gotta love the styro-foam cups with crunchy ice!

Aww...much better!

Baby Shower

My mom and sister threw the best baby shower for me and the baby yesterday. From the food, to the attendees, to the littlest details...they thought of everything!! The theme was "Build Baby's library and stock the nursery" so everyone brought their favorite book. I LOVE books and I am so excited for our new library.

The food was delicious, and all the colors coordinated--even the drinks! The Cake Pops were To-Die-For! A BIG thank you to Momlark for making them. My mom bought a book shelf to put all the books on as I opened them. So cute!

Me and Grandma

Sisters

The cute host

All the relatives! From grandmas, to cousins, to aunts, to nieces

A BIG thank you for everyone who came and helped with the party. I had such a fun time and can't wait to read to our little man. THANK YOU!

(I also am so excited to see Ava-Bava, Ashy & Mommy)

Andy's Birthday!

Sunday was Andy's birthday.... and even though I wanted to throw a fun party complete with Cake Pops and Cupcakes, I was asked repeatedly for a low-key day.

So we started the day off with some Cinnamon-bun Ebelskivers:

A Present or two...

And ended with a delicious dinner compliments of Angie Gubler! (Can you say YUMMO!)

We (the baby and I) love you and hope you had a great birthday!!
