The moment of truth....

I woke up this morning to finish the orange rolls, nervous to see how they turned out. At the beginning things weren't looking too swell, but by the time they came out of the oven they looked so good. Obviously I am going to like them regardless how authentic they taste compared to Jane's famous rolls. The biggest test was Andy's response-- The first roll, "They're good, but I don't think they are as good." Then the second batch came out of the oven, "Wow, these are pretty good" Then the last batch came out, and they tasted SO GOO (As my dad would say it, it it just a funny way of saying so good) So, although they weren't AS pretty as Jane's I think the taste level was pretty high. A little more practice is definitely needed, but by next Thanksgiving at the Bruce household we might just have a new tradition!! (i'll post pictures later... the internet connection is slow since Xbox live is on :)

I'm so mad that i couldn't partake of these amazing rolls! School always seems to ruin our fun. Maybe you can save some so we can play games and munch on scrumptious orange rolls! mmm this is making me hungary. How is packing going?

Good for you Jillian... they are certainly something that takes time and practice. I am sure they were great. Drew would do what my dad does and say " ohhh this one doesn't look that good or it's a "bad one" and really they are the best in the bunch and end up eating them all!

Congrats Jillian! The orange rolls are a quite a task, I have yet to try them by myself. Cari is right Drewbie will do what my dad does, eat the really great ones before dinner even starts claiming they're a lil burnt. My mom's solution to that situation was always a good one--triple the batch yummmmmmmy!

You will become the official roll maker. How many points is an Orange Roll? Not that I count them when I'm devouring them. I'm so glad someone else likes orange rolls, cuz I've ALWAYS liked them better than cinnamon.

You're way ahead of me girl! I've always relied on my mama to make the orange rolls. They are Matt's favorite! He eats about 12 every Christmas. Would you be willing to share the recipe?
