Notice the tube coming out of his port...
In April we had Andy's three month check up with his Oncologist, Dr Glenn. It was nerve racking because it was our first appointment since December. They did a blood test which came back relatively good, but some symptoms that Andy has been having had Dr Glenn concerned. We were sent for a CT scan and told to call them as soon as it was completed so they could review and get back to us.
It took 24 hours from the time of the scan until we were called. Talk about a long 24 hours!! Unfortunately, there is a new tumor resting on Andy's pancreas, plus an additional 3 tumors that the chemotherapy from last year hasn't diminished. Of course we went into panic mode at this news, but Dr Glenn remained very calm. She informed us that the new tumor is small and as of right now she just wants us to closely monitor. If anything changes in his symptoms or pain we need to call immediately.
Because Andy is now producing his own white blood cells Dr Glenn is confident his body will naturally take care of the remaining 3 tumors and the new one. So unless anything changes (which for the record we are journaling every slight symptom with exactness) we will just see Dr at his 6 month check up on July 11!
