Both my kids have blankies. With both of them I tried to force a certain type of blanket... One that I deemed "Cute" or "practical", but both of them chose what worked for them!
Lucas has this little "Nochi" one that used to go everywhere with us. Now it is relegated to his bedroom and family room. It is so beat up, but he will not go near any other blankie!
Jane had a blanket that she was attached to immediately. It was a a pink fleece blanket that Aunt Kelly got her. It was a little big to take everywhere, so I tried to push a smaller version of it. Nope. Then January hit and Jane got sick and only wanted to sit with mom. In the winter months I always have this pink blanket with me on the couch. My mom got it for all the girls when we went to Costa Rica for the red eye flight. Well... Jane has deemed the blanket hers. She will only sleep if she has BOTH blankets. One night I put her to bed and I was worried that there was too much fluff in her crib so I took the silky one out and put it on the ground. Within minutes she was screaming. I walked back in to find both arms in between slats and she was trying to grab the other blanket. It was so endearing! So now she sleeps with both blankets. Here she is playing peek a boo with the newer one that she stole from me. I think I need a replacement.... mom??

Miles has TWO blankies also and they are big and the must go everywhere with us :)
